The Geographic Update Partnership Software (GUPS) developed by Gunnison for the Local Update of Census Addresses program (LUCA) was featured in the February edition of the Government Computer News. The Census Bureau commended the GUPS software on being secure and ensuring higher quality data than previous LUCA cycles. GUPS v.7.0.0 was released to Voting District Project participants, Phase 2 of the 2020 Census Redistricting Data Program, in December 2017. The same version of GUPS was also released to the Local Update of Census Addresses program (LUCA) participants in February 2018. Local and State governments will use GUPS to provide updates to their local addresses and voting districts prior to the 2020 Decennial Census.
