Listing and Mapping Application

for U.S. Census Bureau -

Project Image 1

Gather, update and verify address and geographic data in the field.

Gunnison provides technical leadership supporting the development of the Census Bureau’s corporate Listing and Mapping Application (LiMA)—a mobile field data collection system that enables field workers to gather “on the ground” geospatial information in support of survey frame development. At its core the LiMA system provides highly accurate updates to the Census Bureau’s Master Address File/Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) database. The LiMA system is an instrumental component of the Census Bureau’s suite of solutions deployed in support of the upcoming 2020 Census operations.

  • We use Scrum as the agile development framework for this project to design, build, and test this new software while adhering to the CB’s IT security policies and standards. We comply with all Census procedures regarding the development of software such as source code management, version control, release management, code reviews, test case reviews, unit and functional testing, etc.
  • We proactively help to prioritize software features. Working with designated Census product owners we assist with the selection of incremental capabilities for development iterations and guide the Census product owners, who are new to the Scrum framework, to correctly use the scrum framework.
  • We demonstrate completed software capabilities at the end of each development iteration and deploy completed software to test or production environments as needed.
