Gunnison supports the Library of Congress, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) in providing the IT leadership, services, and capabilities that support the Library’s current and future mission requirements. The Library of Congress’ IT environment delivers digital services that enable Congress and the American people to use all that the Library of the 21st century offers now and into the future. The OCIO leads the optimization of resources, standards, processes, and procedures to bring maximum technological benefit as well as provide secure and reliable services to Congress, service units, staff, and the public. The OCIO directs the institution-wide collaboration and standardization of approaches to integrate advanced technology into infrastructure capabilities and applications supporting the Library’s mission and strategic goals.
The IT Security Division (ITSEC) operates the Library’s IT Security Program. The IT Security mission is to provide IT security education and awareness at all levels and provides the Library with the assurance that Library IT systems and data, including the IT aspects of the collection, are protected commensurate with their value, without impairing the Library’s ability to provide information to the Congress and the American people.
In support of the Library’s, OCIO and ITSEC mission, Gunnison provides a professional team of Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) under a 5-year, single award contract to maintain compliance with the Library’s IT Security Directives, applicable NIST Guidelines, and other mandatory security requirements that may be imposed on Library of Congress IT Systems.
